Yearly, Carthage College invites the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the annual Carthage Christmas Festival, three performances of readings and music in the A. F. Siebert Chapel. These annual concerts are the College's Christmas gift to the community. Tickets to the Christmas Festival have been free since the festival began more than 20 years ago.

Iowa State University students serve as Peer Mentors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Nearly 150 upper class students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will be serving as Peer Mentors in the college's 20 Learning Communities for the 2016-2017 academic year. Mentors help new students in the college make the transition to life at Iowa State University. These selected Peer Mentors are often involved with organizing study groups, social events, and out-of-class activities. Seventeen Westminster College students have been inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education.
Twelve Cornell College students were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the country's oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. These students will have their names added to the permanent plaque in Cole Library listing all members elected to Cornell's chapter.
Kappa Pi is the international art honorary fraternity. Zeta Alpha Psi is the Carthage chapter. The fraternity strives to spread art throughout campus and the community. To be a member, you must be a Studio Art or Art History major or minor, have completed at least 12 credits in the Art Department, maintain a 3.0 GPA in all art classes, and a have a 2.0 GPA overall.
Students from the area who have been accepted at University of Wisconsin-Stout for fall 2013 have been awarded the Chancellors Scholarship in the amount of $4,500; $3,000 for the freshman year and $1,500 for the sophomore year. To qualify, students must be in the top 10 percent of their graduating class, or have a 3.5 GPA for high schools that do not rank with an ACT score of at least 26, or an equivalent SAT score.
